The Tribhuvan University ( TU , Nepali : त्रिभुवन विश्वविद्यालय ) a public university in is Kirtipur , district Kathmandu in Nepal . King Tribhuvan Bir Bikram Shah Dev gave the institution its name. The university was founded in 1959, making it the oldest state university in Nepal. It has four faculties of education, humanities and social sciences, law and management.
The university offers a large number of different courses and is the tenth largest university in the world with around 600,000 enrolled students, 8,000 teaching staff and more than 7,000 other employees.
