Triepad (later Tripad ) was a bicycle - companies in Paderborn .

history

The entrepreneur Johann Trienens (1900–1973) founded the bicycle mail order company "TriePad" in Paderborn in 1924 . The company's trademark was the three-rabbit emblem on the front mudguard of the bike. The company had its first sales and assembly point near the town hall until 1939. Typewriters and radios were also offered here. Another branch for bicycles was added in the 1930s. After the Second World War, a new, large company complex was built on Rathenaustraße. A sales point was also opened on Westernstrasse.

Initially, three models were produced: the entry-level model Perfekt , the slightly more expensive Hochland version and the quality brand Triepad . In the late 1930s, the Perfect and Hochland models were replaced by the Speer and Alpenkönig brands .

In the early 1950s, the company name was changed from Triepad to Tripad .

After the death of Johann Trienens, the company was closed in 1973 because his wife could no longer run it and no other successor could be found.
