Table of contents

Michael meets Thomas at school, who has to repeat the class because of a six in Latin. Thomas is equally popular, is elected class representative and makes friends with Michael. The two often visit the “Walfisch” disco. This is also the place where they first smoke and dance with girls and there they are offered hashish. When Thomas smokes his first joint, he doesn't find it very intoxicating at first. The two are therefore invited by Klaus, a sports student, to seduce them into hashish. Thomas sinks into a drug swamp, he goes to various hash parties, has no more money and for this reason even starts to deal. He gets his drugs from Norbert, a friend of Klaus'. Thomas is caught dealing and only escapes a prison sentence because his parents send him to rehab. There he ran away after a few days and hid with Norbert. Thomas decides to stop using drugs and distances himself from Norbert. He invites Thomas to his home and he drinks a couple of glasses of wine with him. There Norbert blackmailed Thomas and said that Birgit, an acquaintance from the whale, was pregnant by him, so that Thomas would deal for him again. Thomas is caught trading for the second time during a raid in the whale. Michael learns that Birgit is actually not pregnant and tries to expose Norbert as the culprit.

When Norbert is found dead one night, the police initially say that Thomas killed him, but later it turns out that he died of an overdose.
