Tristan and Yseut

Tristan et Yseut is a version of the subject Tristan und Isolde by Thomas d'Angleterre, known today through Gottfried von Strassburg, among others .

While Gottfried's story ends with Tristan's doubts about his love for Isolde, Thomas's text tells the story of Tristan's marriage to Isolde Weißhand, whom he married for the same name, and the tragic end.
