Triton (motorcycle)
A Triton is a motorcycle that consists of a Triumph engine and a Norton spring bed frame.
Triton is not a motorcycle brand, but a self-made motorcycle that first appeared in England in 1952 . The twin engine of the Triumph with 500 later 650 cm³ displacement was superior to the chassis , so that individual manufacturers and hobbyists built the twin engine of the Triumph into the feather bed frame of the Norton. The Norton had the "better" landing gear frame - designed by the McCandless brothers - but the "worse" engine, e.g. B. in Norton Manx . The naming came from the two manufacturers: Tri umph and Nor ton . The Triton was popular as a Cafe Racer in England until the 1960s . Hardly any Triton is like the other, what the accessories market has to offer that has been built into one-offs.
