Dry plaster is a term from the building industry that is sometimes used in a confusing way because, before the development of dry construction , there was only factory dry mortar under this name .

Today, dry plaster can denote wall and ceiling coverings (mostly made of plasterboard ) that are used in drywall construction with a different meaning .

Both variants of dry plaster have in common that they are types of plaster and that the transport of the building materials to the place of use takes place in a dry state, whereby the factory dry mortar is traditionally processed into wet plaster and the building boards are screwed or glued in drywall.
