Trocomat

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Trokomat is a patented ventilation device for fire extinguishing pumps that has been built and sold by the Ziegler company since 1967 .

function

The suction line of the pump is vented by two piston pumps, which are driven by an eccentric shaft. The pistons alternately suck in the air from the suction line (suction stroke) and press it to the outside via membranes (discharge stroke). If water flows in after successful venting and this reaches a pressure of 1.5 bar (cut-off pressure of the Trokomat), the pistons, which are held in the working position by spring force, are pushed outwards into the rest position. In this rest position, the piston rods no longer touch the eccentric, which then runs idle. If the pressure drops again (<1.5 bar), the Trokomat automatically switches on again due to the spring force.
