The trumpet knot or trumpet stitch is a shortening knot that can be placed in a line without using the ends, which makes it ideal for shortening lines that have already been tied up.

Since the knot can loosen under both too much and too little load, it should not be used.

Knot

It is made as shown in the photos. You put three eyes parallel to each other and let them overlap at the edges. Then pull the middle eye on each side through the adjacent eye. The result is a knot that vaguely resembles a trumpet.
