Tron (TRX) is a decentralized, blockchain- based cryptocurrency from the Tron Foundation . It was originally an Ethereum- based ERC-20 token, which was migrated to its own blockchain on June 25, 2018 ( token swap ).

TRON is based in Singapore and was founded in September 2017 by CEO Justin Sun, who appeared in the “30 under 30” ranking of Forbes China in 2015 .

At the end of December 2017, Justin Sun announced via several tweets that various developers of the Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba.com had already joined TRON. In January 2018 there was a technical cooperation with the bicycle rental system obike and Game.com .

The crypto currency Tron received more attention in December 2017 due to an enormous price increase. After the price of the Tron token stood at around 0.0018 euros at the beginning of December 2017, the price rose on January 5, 2018 to its all-time high of around 0.25 euros with a volume of 66,682,072,191 TRX in circulation. In the ranking of the market capitalization, TRX took 6th place at the beginning of January 2018 with around 12 billion euros.
