Dulov (until 1927 Slovak "Dulov-Nová Ves", Hungarian Dúlóújfalu ) is a municipality in the northwest of Slovakia with 925 inhabitants (December 31, 2019), which in Okres Ilava of, part kraj Trenčiansky lies.

geography

The village is located in the Ilavská kotlina basin , a part of Považské podolie on the left bank of the Tovarský creek , shortly before its confluence with the Váh . Northern parts of the municipal area are characterized by the hilly mountain base of the White Carpathians . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 250  m nm and is seven and a half kilometers from Ilava and 13 kilometers from Púchov .

The community consists of the places Dulov and Nová Ves, whereby the second place mentioned was incorporated in the middle of the 19th century and is now officially no longer part of the municipality.

Neighboring communities are Kvašov in the north, Horovce in the east, Ladce in the south-east, Košeca in the south, Pruské in the south-west and Tuchyňa in the west.

history

Dulov was first mentioned in writing in 1259 as Dulow . In 1598 there were eight houses in Dulov. In 1720 27 taxpayers lived in the village, in 1784 the village had 16 houses, 16 families and 85 residents. In 1828 there were 11 houses and 96 inhabitants who were employed as farmers.

Nová Ves was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1388. In 1598 there were 27 houses in Nová Ves, in 1784 the village had 46 houses, 51 families and 290 inhabitants. In 1828 there were 53 houses and 397 inhabitants who were employed as farmers.

The place in Trenčín County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1918 and then came to Czechoslovakia or Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, 934 people lived in Dulov, 903 of whom were Slovaks , two Czechs and one Moravian . 28 residents gave no information on ethnicity .

841 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church, four residents to the Evangelical Church AB and one resident to the Pentecostal movement; two residents professed a different denomination. 31 residents had no denomination and the denomination of 55 residents was not determined.
