Sedmerovec (Hungarian Szedmerőc - until 1907 Szedmeróc ) is a municipality in the northwest of Slovakia with 419 inhabitants (December 31, 2019), which in Okres Ilava of, part kraj Trenčiansky lies.
geography
The community is located in the Ilavská kotlina basin , a part of Považské podolie , by the Sedmerovský creek in the catchment area of the Waag . Northern parts of the municipal area are characterized by the hilly mountain base of the White Carpathians . The center of the village is at an altitude of 258 m nm and is eight kilometers from Ilava .
Neighboring municipalities are Krivoklát in the north, Bohunice in the east, Pruské and Ilava in the southeast and Slavnica in the west.
history
Sedmerovec was first mentioned in writing in 1229 as Myleuch and belonged to the estate of the Pominovszky , Okruczky , Halupa and Pruzsinszky families . In 1720 11 taxpayers lived here, in 1784 the village had 37 houses, 44 families and 246 residents. In 1828 there were 41 houses and 317 inhabitants who were employed as farmers and fruit growers.
The place in Trenčín County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1918 and then came to Czechoslovakia or Slovakia.
From 1979 to 1990 Sedmerovec was part of the Bolešov municipality.

According to the 2011 census, Sedmerovec had 432 residents, including 426 Slovaks . Six residents did not provide any information about their ethnicity .
416 residents admitted to the Roman Catholic Church and one resident to the Jewish community. Five residents were non-denominational and the denomination was not determined for 10 residents.

traffic
The Nemšová – Lednické Rovne railway runs near Sedmerovec, although it has not been used for regular passenger traffic since 2003. At the lower end of the village, the main street of the village joins the 2nd order street 507 on the section between Nemšová and Púchov .
