Trueberbueb

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Truberbueb is an Emmental folk song . It was written in 1875 by the pastor of Trubschachen Gottfried Strasser ; the melody was written by Johann Rudolf Krenger .
The Truberbueb has become the unofficial anthem of the Emmental and has a similar status there as the Bernermarsch or the national anthem . The song also illustrates the zeitgeist of the second half of the 19th century, when nationalism and a return to folklore became increasingly important. The text paints a romantic picture of the Emmental.

In 1991 the dialect rock band Patent Ochsner recorded their own version of the Truberbueb called Ämmital . In her text, the Emmentaler, often considered to be backwoodsmen, and their attitude to life are poked fun at.
