Lymphatic system of the trunk in humans

The lumbar trunk ("lumbar trunk") is a paired lymphatic trunk in the abdominal cavity . It conducts the lymph from the lumbar lymph nodes ( Nodi lymphatici lumbales ), which receive the lymph from the lower extremities, the pelvic organs and parts of the abdominal wall, into the lumbar cistern ( cisterna chyli ), from where it is drained via the thoracic duct .
