Trunk 3
As Trunk 3 ( T3 , T3 or DS3 or DS3 ) is referred to in the telephony third multiplex level of the American telephone system with a data rate of 44.736 Mbit / s or 28 T1 -Datenkanälen.
A T3 connection corresponds to approximately 672 coupled voice lines; the conduit may be rented proportionately ( English fractional T3 ). A complete T3 connection can be rented as a leased line and is often used to connect an Internet Service Provider (ISP) to a backbone .
The European equivalent is the E3 leased line with a data rate of around 34 Mbit / s.
