Triphiodoros

Triphiodoros (also Tryphiodoros ) was a poet. He lived in the third or fourth century and came from Egypt. His only surviving work is The Conquest of Troy (Greek Iliou Halosis or Latin Excidium Ilii ), a poem with 691 verses. Other titles are Marathoniaca and The Story of Hippodamea . His writing style lies between that of the Nonnos of Panopolis and that of Quintus Smyrnaeus .
