Tschan (unit)

The Tschan was a measure of length in the Chinese canton . It was considered a rod measure and referred to the unit foot (also called kovid, covid or cobre), with five different foot lengths from around 150 to 166.75 Parisian lines being known.

  • 1 Tschan = 10 feet / Kovid / Kobre / Covidi = 3.1972 meters
  • 180 Tschan = 1 Li = 575.5 meters
