Tschiffeli (patrician family)

The Tschiffeli ( [dʒiˌfɛliˈ] , also Tschiffely, Tschiffély, French Chiffelle ) were a Bernese patrician family from Biel who had owned the citizenship rights of the city of Bern since 1595 and in Bern in 1897 as a male.

The Tschiffeli provided numerous members of the Grand Council and provincial bailiffs and temporarily owned the rule Bümpliz, the Werdthof, the Hunziken country estate and the Kleehof in Kirchberg.
