Tseng Yu-Chin (* 1978 in Taipei ) is a Taiwanese video artist .

life and work

Tseng Yu-Chin graduated from Shih Chien University with a bachelor's degree in 2002 and a master's degree from Taipei National University of the Arts in 2006 .

“In his early video works and experimental short films, a surreal, dream-like atmosphere predominates, which moves associatively in the area of ​​emotional and mental processes. The newer videos, on the other hand, appear like parts of a psychological experiment. Tseng's attention is mostly focused on childhood as a phase of primary body experience and social conditioning. "

In 2007 Tseng Yu-Chin presented the video Who's listening? At documenta 12 . out. Schoolchildren can be seen waiting to be sprinkled with yogurt. In video No.5 , a mother and her four-year-old son sit on a white sofa in front of a white wall. The mother approaches the boy with kisses and tickles.
