Tsuki no kata

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The tsuki no kata ( Japanese 突 の 形 or 突 き の 形 , dt. "Punch kata, punch form") is a Japanese kata that is trained in the Kyokushin Kaikan , among other things . Some schools also interpret it as "happiness kata", since tsuki can also mean "happiness" in a different spelling ( 付 き ).

description

The focus of the kata is on the tsuki techniques oizuki and gyakuzuki in the various stands Kiba Dachi, Sanchin Dachi and also Zenkutsu Dachi.

This kata is intended to suggest that prosperity and happiness do not come by themselves. The tsuki techniques that are practiced in this kata should be seen as a barrier that is torn down by the execution.

This kata is required for the 6th and 5th Kyū .
