Tube seat
On an orthopedic support apparatus such. B. a Thomas splint or on a prosthetic leg, the tube seat is a kind of ring with a widening of the support surface or the prosthesis shaft in the area of the ischiadic tuberosity , with which part of the body load is axially absorbed by the amputation stump or the limb .
Orthoses with a tube seat are u. a. used for a femoral neck fracture , tibial head fracture , femur fracture , gonarthrosis , Perthes disease and coxarthrosis . Prostheses with a tube seat are used for amputation stumps with limited loading capacity.
