The Tumbok Lada , also Bolado , Peunoewa , Piso Sukul , Gading , Tembok Lada , Toembok Lada , Toemboeq Lada , Toembuk Lada , Tombak Lada , Tombok Lada has a straight, single-edged blade. The blade becomes slightly narrower from the handle to the location . The cutting edge is on the concave side of the blade. The blades are often made of Damascus steel and usually have one or more hollow grinds that run just below the back of the blade. The blades are made almost exactly like the Sewar blades , but they are wider and thicker. The place is pointed or rounded. The handle has no guard and is made of ivory. The scabbards are mostly made of wood and decorated with carvings, or covered with silver sheet. The name comes from tumbok_ = to grind or crush. lada = pepper. The name is derived from the handle of the Tumbok Lada , which is used in the shape of the traditional pounder to grind peppercorns. The Tumbok Lada is used by ethnic groups from Sumatra.
