The turbine runner monument is located on the site of today's natural gas-fired cogeneration plant Halle-Trotha of Stadtwerke Halle in Halle (Saale) . It is reminiscent of the lignite -fired thermal power station Rudolf Breitscheid and consists of the rotor of an extraction condensation turbine . The turbine with a nominal output of 12 MW was manufactured in 1969 by VEB Görlitzer Maschinenbau . It was taken out of service in 1995 in the context of the closure and later demolition of the Rudolf Breitscheid thermal power station. The machine performed 174,248 operating hours and generated around 1.7 million MWh of electrical energy.
