TurboCASH is an open source financial software that was created by a team of developers led by Philip Copeman in South Africa . It was first published in April 1985 and has been under the GNU General Public License since July 2003 .
The largest TurboCASH user community is in South Africa . According to the developers, there are over 100,000 users worldwide. It has been translated into 23 languages including German, Dutch and Spanish.
TurboCASH is aimed at home users up to medium-sized companies. Its basic functionality includes a general ledger, transactions / invoices and the ability to create financial reports. Thanks to its plug-in functionality, extensions can also be created outside of the development team.
TurboCASH works directly with osCommerce , CRE Loaded and Zen Cart . Since it was developed in Delphi , it is supported by Windows . A version for Linux ( Wine ) is available as well as for Apple Mac OS . TurboCASH has been using Firebird as database since version 4.0 .
