Turbomeca Arriel
The Turbomeca Arriel is a wave turbine of the French manufacturer Turbomeca specifically for the drive of helicopters .
history
It was launched in 1977 . To date (February 2015) around 11,500 pieces of this type have been produced. This makes it one of the manufacturer's most successful shaft turbine engines.
Technical specifications
The engine has two separate shafts. The gas generator consists of a two-stage compressor , the first stage having an axial design, the second being radial. The combustion chamber is designed as an annular combustion chamber and works with a two-stage axial turbine for the Arriel I engine type and a simple axial turbine for the Arriel II engine. The output speed, reduced by a gear, is 6000 to 6700 / min. Up to now (as of February 2006) it has been manufactured in 28 variants.
