Jerusalem Tower
The Jerusalem Tower is a well-fortified residential tower in the city of Trier at the Domfreihof. He is the oldest building of the 11th century built medieval Assembly " Palais Walderdorff ".
The tower originally had four or five floors. In the course of time, however, the upper floors were removed. Today the upper floor of the tower is used as the wedding hall of the registry office.
In Trier there were probably seven or eight such well-fortified residential towers, of which, besides the Jerusalem tower, only the Dreikönigenhaus and the Frankenturm have survived.
