Tuṣita [ tʉʃita ] in Sanskrit or Tusita in Pali (also written Tuschita or Tushita in literature ) is a heavenly world in which the coming Buddha Maitreya is said to be currently. Various Buddhist scholars, sages and saints are said to have traveled to Tuṣita to be taught by Maitreya. So z. B. some tantric teachings go back to Maitreya, who explained them to one of these "visitors".
