Martin Tuszkay

Martin Tuszkay even Márton Tuszkay (* 18th January 1884 ; † 21st November 1940 in Berlin ) was a Hungarian poster artist and commercial artist .

Tuszkay studied in Budapest , Berlin and Paris . From 1911 he worked mainly in Budapest, but was also active in France and Germany. His work consists of poster designs and graphics. He was represented at exhibitions in 1910 and 1913 in the Künstlerhaus and in 1918 in the National Salon in Budapest. In 1919 he also designed some political posters. In his early days he was close to the artist group Nyolcak . With his work, which can be found in various museums and galleries, he is one of the masters of Hungarian poster art. Most recently he lived in Berlin, where he also died. He found his final resting place in the south-west cemetery in Stahnsdorf .
