Tvheadend , often abbreviated as TVH , is a server application for streaming LinuxTV sources over HTTP , HTSP and SAT> IP. Common formats are supported, including DVB-T , DVB-S and DVB-C .

Channels can be combined and managed via a built-in web interface. The EPG function lists information about the current TV program. With the help of the integrated recording function ( DVR ), individual programs or entire series can be recorded.

use

Tvheadend is typically used to distribute the TV signal to several devices (smart TVs, mobile phones / tablets, set-top boxes) in a building or network. It can also cover larger areas.

There are clients for streaming that are specially tailored to Tvheadend. However, through HTTP and HTSP streaming, channels and recordings can be played with many media players.
