Twin player

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Twinplayer (also called a double CD player ) is a device that has two CD drives and can play two CDs at the same time. It is mainly used by disc jockeys .

Depending on the model, the twin player offers the following features:

  • Pitch
  • Loop
  • Stop after the track (this is also available with music boxes )
  • Option to run the time of the track forward or backward

The twin player is connected to a mixer . For this you usually need a cinch cable (male to male), a cinch cable (male to jack  6.3) and a connector (also called adapter or coupling) for the cinch cable and cinch to jack. You also need a special control cable to connect the CD drives to the player console.

Standard twin players can only read wav formats and audio files. There are also twin players that can read MP3 or other formats such as DVD .
