Tyholttunnelen (German: Tyholttunnel ) is a 2,760 meter long railway tunnel in Trondheim . The construction of the tunnel was started by the German Wehrmacht during the Second World War in order to have a diversion route in Trondheim available. Officially, however, the tunnel was not put into operation until traffic on the Stavne – Leangen railway began in 1957.
