The Type-93 ASM-2 is an airborne anti-ship missile that entered service in 1995 by the Japanese Self-Defense Forces . The ASM-2 is part of a family of anti-ship missiles that can be fired from the mainland, from ships and from the air. They are all further developments of the Type-80 ASM-1 .

The ASM-2 has a turbojet drive , which enables it to double the range of the ASM-1, as well as an infrared seeker head developed by Fujitsu .
