Type II string theory

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Type II string theory involves two of the five superstring theories that have been constructed 1984th

A distinction is made between type IIA and IIB. Like the previous model, they are based on 10 dimensions.

Edward Wittens "M-Theory"

Edward Witten found out in 1995 that the two string theories are T-dual to one another , and he also recognized that with an infinite increase in the coupling constant of the type IIA string, a new dimension emerges and the string becomes a membrane. He incorporated this new dimension into his new theory, so that the M-theory is based on 11 dimensions.
