UFC 4: Revenge of the Warriors was a mixed martial arts event of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). It took place on December 16, 1994 in Tulsa , Oklahoma , United States and was broadcast as pay-per-view .
background
UFC 4 was played in the format of an eight-man tournament , the winner of which received $ 64,000 . In addition, three more fights were fought. All seven fights of the tournament and the Jason Fairn vs. Guy Mezger were broadcast live as pay-per-view .
There were still no weight classes or weight limits in the tournament. A time limit and rounds and thus also judges were also waived. Referee for all bouts of the evening was again John McCarthy . For the first time Bruce Beck and Jeff Blatnick sat together at the commentator's desk, which remained so up to and including UFC 15 in October 1997. The two were supported by Jim Brown .
Royce Gracie won the tournament after defeating Dan Severn in the finals by giving up in a triangle choke . It was his third win in the UFC's fourth tournament. There was also a spectacular fight between Keith Hackney and Joe Son , which Hackney won by giving up.
