The federal law on the organization of universities (official abbreviation: UOG 1993 , informally therefore usually referred to as the University Organization Act 1993 ) was an Austrian federal law in which the organization of the then twelve scientific universities was regulated. The 1993 UOG superseded the previously valid university organization law from 1975. The law was first announced in the Federal Law Gazette for the Republic of Austria No. 805/1993.

At the end of December 31, 2003, the UOG 1993 was replaced by the University Act 2002 , with the exception of the constitutional provisions that still existed . These remaining provisions were incorporated into the Federal Constitutional Law in 2008 and converted into simple legal regulations. With the University Law Amendment Act 2009 , the last remnants of the UOG 1993 expired on September 30, 2009.
