UR-416
The UR-416 is an armored vehicle based on the Unimog 416 , which was manufactured by Rheinstahl . A total of 816 vehicles were delivered between 1969 and 1989, they have the type 416.160.
The vehicle is built on the chassis of the Unimog 416 with a 2900 mm wheelbase and is powered by a liquid-cooled six-cylinder in-line diesel engine of the type OM 352 with an output of 81 kW. Daimler states that the engine for the UR-416 was also available in a power variant with 74 kW; Chant writes that the power is 89 kW. The interior can accommodate nine people. An armored observation post can be mounted on the roof and a clearing blade can be mounted on the bow.
The UR-416 emerged from the Unimog-SH and Unimog-T vehicles , which are based on the 404 series . German and foreign special forces deployed the UR-416. A similar vehicle, the Mine Protected Combat Vehicle , was developed from the UR-416 in Rhodesia in the 1970s .
