The USS Louisiana (BB-19) was a battleship of the United States Navy , which after the 18th US state was named. She was of the Connecticut class .

The keel was laid on February 7, 1903 in Newport News (Virginia) on the premises of the Newport News Shipbuilding & Dry Docks Co. The launch took place on December 29, 1904, the commissioning on June 2, 1906.

history

During a first renovation in 1910/11, the ship received the lattice mast typical of US battleships. In 1917/18 the 7-inch (178 mm) rapid fire cannons and some of the 3-inch (76.2 mm) guns were expanded. The ship was never involved in a war effort. In 1924 the USS Louisiana (BB-19) was removed from the fleet list and then scrapped.
