The USS Raven (MHC-61) is a mine hunting boot of Osprey class . It is the third ship in the United States Navy to be named after the ravens and crows . On March 31, 1993, the contract to build this ship was transferred to Intermarine USA . The ship was launched on September 28, 1996. The commissioning took place on September 5, 1998. The Raven was originally stationed at Naval Station Ingleside in Ingleside , Texas , in 2000 it was then moved to Manama , Bahrain . In January 2007 she was handed over to the Egyptian Navy under the Naval Vessels Transfer Act of 2005 (PL 109-134).
