Udo Cohrs

Udo Cohrs is a former German canoeist . He was multiple GDR champion.

Life

Cohrs launched for the Magdeburg district Fermersleben on the same local canoe division of BSG Stahl Magdeburg South , later BSG Motor Southeast Magdeburg . A first major sporting success came in 1951 when he was in the youth division in the III. Won World Festival in single canoe over 500 meters. 1954 Cohrs participated in the canoe slalom in the state championship. Along with other club members, he had taken part in a canoe slalom course in Jena - Lobeda . In 1957 he was part of the BSG team, which won the GDR championship title in the 10-man Canadians over 1,000 meters. Over 1,000 and 10,000 meters, he also won the single canoe here.

Cohrs was delegated to SC Magdeburg . At the GDR championships in 1960 won again in the single canoe over 1,000 and 10,000 meters. Another source mentions the GDR championship title for Udo Cohrs in the single canoe over 1,000 meters in 1956 and 1959.
