The Ufficio Programmazione Economica e Centro Elaborazione Dati e Statistica ( UPECEDS for short ) is the statistical office of the Republic of San Marino .
The Office provides information and analysis services for government and business development . The Statistical Office was founded in 1969 on behalf of Congress and was officially recognized in 1972.
tasks
The UPECEDS mainly deals with statistical tasks such as population censuses , with data from industry , the service sector and agriculture , with sample surveys of households, with business surveys (e.g. prices, foreign trade, institutions, companies), with employment data of the labor market , with the Climate statistics , with the data of the motor vehicle registrations and with the tourism data .
Legal basis
The obligation to objectivity , neutrality and scientific independence as well as the tasks of the Statistical Office and the regulations on statistical confidentiality are regulated in Act L.22 / 12/1972 n.41. Since April 2008, the Republic of San Marino has joined the GDDS ( General Data Dissemination System ), a general data dissemination system introduced by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in December 1997.
