The Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Canada ( English Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada ) is a particular Orthodox Church within the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople in Canada .

Until 1990 it was called the Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church in Canada . On April 1, 1990, it became the responsibility of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople with a name change.

The administrative center is located in Winnipeg: 9 St John's Ave Winnipeg, Manitoba R2W 1G8.

history

The first Orthodox parishes of Ukrainian emigrants were established in Canada in the 19th century.

The church was founded in Saskatoon in 1918 under the name "Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church of Canada" ( English Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church of Canada ).

In 1945 the College of St. Andrew was founded, which to this day is the only Ukrainian Orthodox institute in Canada.
