The Ulm Christmas market takes place every year from the end of November until shortly before Christmas Eve on the Münsterplatz in front of the Gothic cathedral with the highest church tower in the world. In addition to the Stuttgart Christmas market, it is one of the most famous in Baden-Württemberg and attracts more than a million visitors from Germany and abroad every year.

In addition to the more than 130 stalls decorated for Christmas, the Ulm Christmas market has some special features: traditional and modern stories are told in the fairy tale tent, and its production and processing is shown in the glassworks. There is a show hut full of Steiff animals and a “living nativity scene” can be found in front of the cathedral portal. The Ulm Christmas market has a centuries-old tradition. Its actual age is controversial, a tradition is certain until at least the 16th century, according to Felix Fabri the history of the market goes back to the year 1383. The Ulm Christmas market has been held on Münsterplatz since 1805, and has been in its current form and duration since 1984.
