Ulpius Marcianus

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ulpius Marcianus (his praenomen is not known) was a member of the Roman knighthood ( Eques ) living in the 2nd century AD .

A military diploma dated March 23, 178, shows that Marcianus 178 was in command of the Cohors VII Thracum , which was stationed in the province of Britannia at that time . The leadership of this unit is likely to have been his first military command within the Tres militiae .
