Ulrich van Lith

Ulrich van Lith (* 1943 ) is a German economist. Since 1990 he has been an adjunct professor for economic policy at the University of Cologne.

biography

After working as a teacher, he began to study the theory of science with KR Popper and I. Lakatos at the London School of Economics and economics, pedagogy and French literature at the University of Cologne . After completing a diploma, he became a research assistant at the Economic Policy Department of the same university in 1971 and received his doctorate there in 1975. This was followed, among other things, by research stays with JM Buchanan at the Center for Study of Public Choice, George Mason University (Virginia) and his habilitation in 1983 on questions of the order of the Education.

In addition to expert, teaching and research activities, van Lith worked as managing director of the non-profit Peter Klöckner Foundation, Duisburg and as founding dean of the Technical University of Zittau.

Van Lith is a member of the Verein für Socialpolitik, the Committee for Educational Economics, the List Society, the Görres Society for the Care of Science, the German Society for Educational Sciences, the Federal Association of German Foundations and the Mont Pèlerin Society .
