An Ultra Small Aperture Terminal ( USAT ) is a satellite terminal with a very small antenna ( ultra small aperture ) with a diameter of up to 30 wavelengths. An example of USAT are the common satellite broadcast receivers with an antenna dish and amplifier . The larger VSAT antennas are around 30–100 wavelengths in size.

Some authors only differentiate between the large small aperture terminals of the satellite ground stations and the small often mobile VSAT antennas.
