Congshu jicheng chubian

Congshu jicheng chubian ( Chinese  叢書 集成 初 編  /  丛书 集成 初 编  - "Comprehensive collection of Congshu, first part"), abbreviation: CSJCCB , or Congshu jicheng ( Chinese  叢書 集成  /  丛书 集成 ), abbreviation: CSJC , is a Chinese compilation ( congshu ), which in the second half of the 1930s in Shanghai at the Commercial Press ( Shangwu yinshuguan appeared). It was compiled by Wang Yunwu . It is a compilation (congshu) from congshu (丛书 / 叢書 / cóngshū).

The criteria for selection were rarity and practical use. It contains a total of 100 congshu, divided into three categories: general, specialized and regional, it contains a total of 4000 works.

  1. The word chubian 初 编 indicates that the work was broader from the beginning, a sequel (续编 / 續編 / xùbiān) was later published in Taiwan and more recently in Shanghai by Shanghai shudian上海 书店.
  2. Wang Yunwu (王雲 五 / 王云 五 / Wáng Yúnwǔ) (1888–1979) was editor-in-chief and managing director of Commercial Press since the 1920s and last but not least: the inventor of the square index ( Chinese  四角 號碼  /  四角 号码 , pinyin sìjiǎo hàomǎ ).
