The tasks of the so-called environmental control include, above all, the operation of domestic facilities with the help of electronic and electromechanical devices. Environment control is of particular importance in the area of ​​assistance for people with physical deficits.

Applications

There are e.g. B. the possibility of using a combination of telephone system and PC, as well as special software, electric door and window openers, lights, TV and DVD , hi-fi system, heating control and much more by voice control . Here are infrared - and radio transmission used. It is also possible to program a special electric wheelchair controller to operate devices from the wheelchair using infrared or radio. For this purpose, the corresponding codes of the original remote controls are learned in the corresponding memory locations of the additional wheelchair control. These commands can then be selected with a joystick and sent by pressing a button. Instead of the joystick control, other input devices can also be used, such as B. suction / blow switch or even an eye control, in which the pupil movements are recorded by a camera and converted into a mouse arrow movement by software. If, for example, a menu item has been selected, a click is either triggered automatically (dwell or dwell click), or "manually" by e.g. B. winking twice.
