Remains of the fur cloak of the bog body from Kayhausen , approx. 364–350 BC Chr.

A cloak is a simple piece of clothing , essentially a large piece of cloth, fur, or leather that is placed over the body and attached to the neck or shoulders.

With the rain cape, the cape is closed all around, it has no sleeves. To make it more comfortable to put on, a closable neckline is opened with snaps, with buckles or with a zip / Velcro fastener.

Cloaks are used as hairdressing cloaks by hairdressers to protect their customers from hair. Cyclists in particular wear rain capes to protect them from precipitation. Capes are also popular for dressing up because of their universal size behavior.
