The Environmental Statistics Act (UStatG) of August 16, 2005 forms the legal basis in the Federal Republic of Germany for the collection of federal statistics for the purpose of environmental policy .

The following statistical queries can be collected within the framework of the Environmental Statistics Act:

  • Data on waste management (§§ 3 - 6),
  • Data on water supply and wastewater disposal (§§ 7 - 9),
  • Data on certain climate-affecting substances (Section 10),
  • Data on environmental economics (§§ 11 and 12).
