Umzinto Cricket Club

Umzinto Cricket Club is a South African Traditions - Cricket -Verein in Umzinto and member of the Southern District Cricket Union . The venue was the Alexandra Memorial Ground until 1977 . They are integrated into the league structures of the KwaZulu-Natal Cricket Union (KZNCU). The association played first as Natal, later as KwaZulu-Natal in South African first-class cricket , until they were absorbed by the Dolphins for the 2004/05 season .

It was founded in 1878. The population of the white settlers at that time was around 500. The 19 founding fathers included three of the five Arbuthnot brothers, George, William and Fitz-James and Charles Reynolds. The Volunteers' Memorial Hall was built right next to the venue . In the late summer of 1906, on March 20, there was a competition between the women's team and the men for the first time. The men played with broomsticks instead of clubs and hit left-handed
