The Independence Day of Bangladesh ( Bengali স্বাধীনতা দিবস sbādhīnatā dibas ) is the national holiday in Bangladesh .
He recalls the declaration of independence from Pakistan in the late hours of March 25, 1971 by the "father of the nation" Bongobondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman , before he was arrested by Pakistani troops. Every year on this day, a military parade takes place in the capital Dhaka . The various regiments of the land, sea and air forces march in parade uniform, the President, in his office Commander in Chief of the armed forces, receives the salute.
Flag raising and public cultural programs take place in all cities; they are also carried out by many private organizations, schools and colleges. Special programs enriched with patriotic films and music are broadcast on state and private television channels and on the radio.
